Black Friday streaming deal: HBO Max for $2.99/month

-

SAVE $96: Through Dec. 1, new and returning subscribers can get 12 months of HBO Max Basic with ads for just $2.99 per month instead of $10.99 per month. That’s a total of $96 in savings or 73%.

$2.99/month for 12 months (save $8/month)

For Black Friday 2024, HBO Max just copy-pasted its streaming deal from 2023. In 2025, it finally one-upped itself. And that’s a pretty shocking turn of events, considering the streamer recently raised its prices.

Through Dec. 1, new and returning subscribers can get 12 months of HBO Max Basic with ads for only $2.99 per month. That’s just $35.88 total for the year. Since the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streaming service just raised the cost of its Basic with ads plan in October from $9.99 to $10.99 per month, this Black Friday deal ends up saving you $96 or 73% total across 12 months.

The past two years, HBO Max offered just six months of streaming for $2.99 per month. So not only did it double the length of the discount in 2025, but with the price hike, you’ll actually be saving even more. Not to mention, you’ll be getting access to even more excellent content in 2025. This year, we’ve been blessed with several new original series, like the Emmy-winning The Pitt, IT: Welcome to Derry, Task, The Chair Company, and Rachel Sennott’s I Love LA, plus new seasons of beloved series like The Last of Us and The White Lotus. There’s also plenty of new theatrical releases to queue up, including Weapons, Final Destination: Bloodlines, Superman, Sinners, and Bring Her Back.

Following in Netflix’s footsteps, HBO Max recently started its aggressive crackdown on password sharing (ask me how I know), so that’s all the more reason to sign up for your own account. Sure, you’ll have to deal with a few ads here and there, but at under $3 per month, it’s easy to look past that. Just remember you’ll be charged the full cost of $10.99 per month once the promotional period runs out. If you want to avoid that charge, be sure to cancel ahead of time.
