Why XRP, Stellar, XDC, and Algorand Could Lead ISO 20022 Adoption by 2025

-

  • XRP, Stellar, XDC, and Algorand may benefit as ISO 20022 reshapes financial data standards globally.
  • Despite recent price weakness, these blockchains are building long-term positions for institutional finance adoption.

As ISO 20022 nears global implementation in 2025, four cryptocurrency networks—XRP, Stellar, XDC, and Algorand—are gaining attention. While recent price dips may suggest a downturn, an analyst “X Finance Bull” argues the market is misreading a temporary pause as a long-term concern.

This messaging standard, introduced in 2008, is replacing older formats like SWIFT. It uses XML-based structures to allow consistent financial communication across borders. Banks and other financial players could favor projects aligned with it for having a more seamless fit with new regulations and transaction systems.

Unlike Bitcoin, which was never built with such formats in mind, some blockchain networks are now preparing for smoother integration with global finance. ISO 20022-compliant coins could offer stronger links to real-world financial systems by 2025.

XRP, Stellar, XDC, and Algorand Support Real-World Finance Use Cases

Ripple, the company behind XRP, has built partnerships with over 300 financial firms worldwide. Its core focus is enabling quick and reliable international payments, a use case that fits ISO 20022 goals directly.

Stellar, launched by a Ripple co-founder, targets affordable cross-border transfers and increased access to financial tools in underbanked regions. Meanwhile, XDC works with trade finance and has already been deployed in business environments that rely on verified transaction structures.

Algorand, a blockchain known for its low energy usage, has built technical advantages that appeal to institutional users. It offers the kind of scale and speed needed to handle mainstream adoption, while also aligning with environmental targets.

Broader Finance Prepares for Technical Shifts

The global adoption of ISO 20022 promises improved transaction accuracy and reduced fraud risk. For coins aligned with this system, adoption could bring stronger links with banks and payment platforms across multiple countries.

Institutional trust could also increase once compliance is confirmed, especially for those projects that meet both technical and regulatory conditions. The full switch to ISO 20022 by 2025 is expected to change how financial data moves, creating long-term potential for aligned cryptocurrencies.

The recent market correction has created short-term hesitation, but the groundwork continues. By 2025, platforms like XRP, Stellar, XDC, and Algorand may be among the few digital assets compatible with mainstream financial systems, positioning them as contenders in the changing financial space.

At the time of writing, XRP trades at $2.16, holding above support at $2.14 with resistance near $2.18. XLM is at $0.2477, range-bound under $0.25 in low volume. ALGO saw a slight gain to $0.1680, eyeing $0.17 as key. XDC dipped to $0.0576, stuck between $0.057 and $0.059, with pressure building near resistance at $0.058.
