Reality by Bitget Connects DeFi Markets to Tokenized Nasdaq-listed Stocks

Crypto exchange Bitget has launched Reality, a regulated tokenization platform designed to bring traditional financial assets such as U.S. equities onto blockchain rails while preserving direct links to regulated market infrastructure.

The platform will initially focus on tokenized stocks and is expected to expand into exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and bonds. Bitget said the initiative is intended to eliminate long-standing trade-offs in tokenized finance between regulatory compliance, liquidity, and decentralized usability.

Reality operates in partnership with licensed brokers connected to major U.S. exchanges, including Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange. According to the company, each tokenized asset, referred to as an “rToken,” is backed one-to-one by underlying securities held through regulated custodians.

Bitget said Reality was designed to address two of the sector’s biggest structural challenges: liquidity and corporate action management.

Unlike many earlier tokenized stock products, the platform distributes dividends directly to users in stablecoins while maintaining price tracking tied to the underlying equities. Minting and redemption are available around the clock during weekdays, with settlement supported through both real-time and delayed models.

The company also emphasized the platform’s compatibility with decentralized finance infrastructure. rTokens can be transferred freely onchain and used as collateral or integrated into external DeFi protocols.

Reality’s infrastructure relies on regulated brokerage rails, including a FINRA-registered, SIPC-member broker-dealer operating on a self-clearing basis, with securities ultimately registered through the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC).

Tokenization Can Reshape Capital Markets

The broader vision behind the project reflects a growing belief within both crypto and traditional finance that tokenization could reshape capital markets by reducing friction tied to settlement, geography, and trading hours.

Tokenized assets effectively allow traditional financial instruments to operate on blockchain infrastructure, enabling continuous trading, fractional ownership, and interoperability with digital financial applications.

Reality’s launch also arrives as regulators globally begin paying closer attention to tokenized securities. In the United States, the Securities and Exchange Commission is reportedly exploring frameworks to support broader trading in blockchain-based securities products.

Bitget framed the platform as part of a larger push toward integrating traditional markets with decentralized infrastructure rather than replacing them. For investors, the appeal lies in combining familiar financial assets with the flexibility of blockchain networks. For the crypto industry, platforms like Reality represent another step toward turning tokenization from a niche concept into mainstream financial infrastructure.
