Changpeng Zhao (CZ) finally revealed his dog’s name and photos, but he also clarified that there would be no meme coin launch.

The former CEO of Binance on Thursday shared that he was gifted a Belgian Malinois puppy about 18 months ago. CZ named him “Broccoli,” partly because he wanted a B name with some green in it, and partly as a pun on “blocky” and “blockchain.”

“Can’t get away from crypto,” CZ said. He also shared some photos of Broccoli.

CZ stressed that he would not create a meme coin himself, but indicated that the BNB Foundation may support community-created tokens on the BNB Chain. He now leaves it up to the community to create meme coins if they wish, and he stated that he will likely interact with some of the more popular meme coins on the BNB Chain

“I am just posting my dog’s picture and name. I am NOT issuing a meme coin myself. It’s up to the community to do that (or not). I will likely interact with a few of the more popular meme coins on BNB Chain (BSC),” CZ stated.

“The BNB Foundation may provide rewards for the top memes on the BNB Chain, giving LP support or other rewards. The details are still being discussed. More to come,” he hinted.

After doxing Broccoli “for a cause,” CZ reiterated in a separate post that he simply delivered on his promise and would not issue a meme coin.

Binance founder said yesterday he found the whole process of launching a meme coin with his dog’s name and photos “interesting.”
