Moody’s brings trusted credit insights to blockchain networks with Token Integration Engine

-

Moody’s is bringing its credit analysis to blockchain-based financial systems through the Token Integration Engine (TIE), a network-agnostic integration layer that enables the ingestion of analytical data and the delivery of credit insights on-chain.

The company has also become the first rating agency to run a node on the Canton Network, underscoring its commitment to advancing a secure and compliant digital market infrastructure.

According to Fabian Astic, who leads the Digital Economy division at Moody’s Ratings, the digitization of financial markets does not reduce the need for trusted credit evaluation, and the agency is bringing its disciplined methodology to digital market systems while maintaining transparency, oversight, and compliance.

“Moody’s Ratings is extending that rigor to digital market infrastructure consistent with global regulatory expectations and our governance, transparency, and compliance practices,” Astic stated.

TIE serves as the foundation for integrating Moody’s analytics into digital finance workflows, using its Canton node to boost efficiency and transparency.

The model is issuer-led, supporting market coordination while preserving Moody’s authority and oversight in global capital markets. The Canton Network supports institutional-grade privacy and regulatory requirements while connecting major organizations through a decentralized infrastructure.

Yuval Rooz, co-founder of the Canton Network, noted that Moody’s new on-chain approach allows clients to obtain trusted credit information within digital finance workflows, promoting transparency and operational efficiency.

“On-chain independent risk analysis streamlines distribution to permissioned parties, reduces friction, and improves transparency across the transaction lifecycle, which strengthens market efficiency while preserving privacy, control, and compliance,” Rooz highlighted.

Moody’s intends to broaden TIE’s reach to additional networks and financial use cases over time.
