Tesla held 11,509 Bitcoin in its reserves throughout Q1 2025 without selling any, according to the company’s first-quarter earnings report released on April 22.

The electric vehicle maker remains committed to its Bitcoin holding strategy regardless of market conditions.

Bitcoin ended the first quarter down approximately 12%, leaving Tesla’s Bitcoin holdings valued at around $951 million by the end of Q1 2025, according to the report.

However, with Bitcoin surging about 6% to $93,000 on Tuesday, the value of Tesla’s Bitcoin stash has climbed back above $1 billion, data from TradingView shows.

While its Bitcoin position remained untouched, Tesla’s Q1 2025 earnings report revealed several changes across its core business.

Tesla reported disappointing quarterly financial results, with adjusted earnings per share of $0.27, missing analysts’ expectations of $0.41–$0.42.

Revenue fell 9% year-over-year to around $19 billion, below the anticipated $21 billion. Automotive revenue also dropped 20% amid lower deliveries and price cuts.

The company’s vehicle deliveries declined 13% compared to Q1 2024, while production decreased 16%. According to Tesla, the decline in production was caused by an update to four Model Y production lines.

In contrast, Tesla’s energy segment saw strong growth, reporting a 67% year-over-year increase in revenue. Regulatory credit revenue increased to $595 million, up from $432 million a year earlier.

During the earnings call, Elon Musk announced plans to reduce his involvement with the White House DOGE office to focus more on his business.

“Starting next month, I will be allocating far more of my time to Tesla, now that the major work of establishing the Department of Government Efficiency is done,” Musk said.

Musk’s controversial role in the Trump administration has sparked protests, vandalism, and boycotts over the past few months.

Tesla’s shares have dropped by around 41% so far this year, according to Yahoo Finance data. The stock surged nearly 5% in after-hours trading after Musk’s announcement.
