Is Studio Ghibli The New Meta? Musk, Altman and Garlinghouse Ghiblify; Meme Coins Go Crazy

-

Is Studi Ghibli crypto the new meta? Elon Musk’s crypto trends are nothing new, but now Sam Altman and XRP Brad Garlinghouse are in on the Ghibli GPT update trend—and meme coin makers are taking notice.

From Howls Moving Castle to My Neighbour Totaro, Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli has brought heart-warming stories and the magic of Japanese art-house animation to touch the lives of millions around the world.

Following the latest ChatGPT update, which has wholly revamped image generation capabilities, a new trend is ripping through social media as users scramble to ‘Ghiblify’ their photos.

Notably, the newly released image generation chatbot marks a significant juncture in the relationship between OpenAI and DALL-E (the previous supplier of GPT generative image capabilities).

Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and Brad Garlinghouse Bring Studio Ghibli to Crypto Community

While the new GPT image generation tool can handle a wide range of tasks, from making comic strips to higher-level graphic design tasks, the internet has latched onto the Studio Ghibli vibe as part of a classic clamor for nostalgia.

However, the Ghibli trend has also been mainlined by high-profile tech figures such as X Owner Elon Musk, who created a studio Ghibli depiction of himself as the ‘Dogefather’ in The Lion King.

Meanwhile, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse leaped on the trend in another instance after his co-founder, David Schwartz, created a similar anime-styled image of the two XRP co-founders.

Not one to miss a marketing trick, the AI poster boy Sam Altman also joined the trend, posting several ‘ghiblified’ images of his top team.
